Hannah Reich
Hannah is a practitioner, researcher and trainer in the art of relationship building and conscientization by means of aesthetic, sensual, body-based tools. She employs methods deriving from interactive theatre, constructive conflict transformation/ migration education and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). She works as a freelancer in peacebuilding projects e.g. “Civic and non-violent education” in Jordan together with Berghof Peace Education and holds a professorship at the University of Applied Science Würzburg (FHWS) in Social Work.
Hannah is fascinated by participatory, experienced-based methods for knowledge generation and interested in developing and employing creative methods to opening human perception, senses and consciousness to liberate from destructive, impeding patterns of interaction and to be radical present at the moment to explore new perceptions and visions of reality, which broaden the human scope of action.
Hannah is also concerned about the creation of new structures, “infrastructures of peace”, within our global community. In her PhD thesis, she explored forum theatre methodology as a way to generate knowledge about how to transform conflicts, with a case study in post-war Lebanon.
Trained by David Diamond and August Boal, she holds an MA in Islamic Societies and Cultures from the SOAS, UK, and a graduate diploma in Cultural Geography from the University of Bonn, Germany. She is a certified Mindfulness Teacher from Soltereno Academy, Spain.
