
Dr. Janet Ferguson
Based in Bermuda and drawing on more than thirty years of facilitation experience, Janet’s consulting practice includes strategy development, hosting community conversations and the delivery of professional development and leadership workshops.
Recently through StoryCenter she has worked with UNFAO, Roddenberry Fellowship, the City Seminary, New York and Episcopal International Relief & Development, New York and with digital storytelling practitioners and researchers in higher education. She is a StoryCenter board member.
Janet continues to build on a career of consulting work shaped by previous DEI engagements with the BBC, the British Film Institute and the now London-based School of Government. Her work in Bermuda includes the Bermuda National Training Board (now Workforce Development) and the Cabinet office. She is a past Executive Director of the Lifelong Learning Centre, (LLC) Bermuda College.
As a Trustee of the National Museum of Bermuda Janet is the chair of the Education Committee, education strategy advisor and was co-chair of the now completed Future of History campaign
Janet is a visiting adjunct and reader for the Teachers College, Columbia University AEGIS doctoral program. She continues to facilitate annual learning labs for the Educational Travel Consortium (ETC). As a social arts practitioner she uses participatory practices to explore social justice in the context of transformative learning.
She holds UK graduate degrees in Commonwealth Area Studies and Marketing alongside a professional qualification in Teaching and Course Design for Higher Education. Her doctoral degree is in Continuing Education (Warwick, 1998). Janet is a James Birren Center Guided Autobiographical (GAB) Writing instructor (2023)
