David Diamond
David was a co-founding member of Headlines Theatre (1981) and Artistic Director from 1985 to 2018 having renamed the Company Theatre for Living. He now works independently, by invitation. His work has evolved from over 50 years in theatre, the work of Paulo Freire (numerous books) and Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed, as well as numerous invitations from Indigenous communities and a life-long interest in physics.
David has directed over 650 Theatre for Living projects and trainings around the world, with many different cultural groups, on a wide variety of issues, ranging from working with homeless populations and refugees, to humanizing a mechanical mental health system to making Reconciliation true and honourable. Today, the work is always somehow about reaching across difference in this polarizing world. For complete info: www.theatreforliving.com.
