ECOLOGIES OF INNER CONFLICT — Cops in the Head & Rainbow of Desire
Over more than three decades, Héctor Aristizábal has explored the transformative power of theatre as a pathway into the human psyche and the social body. Beginning with the introspective techniques of the Theatre of the Oppressed—particularly Cops in the Head and Rainbow of Desire—his work has accompanied individuals and communities navigating trauma, violence, and displacement across more than 50 countries.
In the past seven years, this exploration has deepened through the creation of collective healing laboratories in Colombia, accompanying the work of the Truth Commission and, more recently, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace. Working with ex-combatants, their victims, and Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities profoundly affected by war, this practice has evolved beyond theatre into a living field of relational inquiry.
Integrating The Work That Reconnects, trauma-informed approaches, and ecological perspectives, this path has gradually opened into the design of contemporary healing rituals—spaces where personal stories, collective memory, and the more-than-human world can be witnessed, transformed, and rewoven.
This training emerges from that journey: a bridge between inner work and collective healing, between theatre and ritual, between personal transformation and the regeneration of the social and ecological fabric.
