“Broken hearts, Open arms…”

Palestine-Israel: Broken hearts, Open arms…“Combatants for Peace (CfP) is a joint Palestinian-Israeli community working in solidarity to end the occupation, discrimination, and oppression of all people living on this land. Guided by the values of nonviolent resistance, we are showing the world that there is another way.” (https://cfpeace.org/)
In partnership with ImaginAction and Pressenza, Ilaria Olimpico conducted interviews with two co-founders of Combatants for Peace, Sulaiman Khatib and Chen Alon, as well as the movement’s new female co-directors, Rana Salman and Eszter Korany. Journalist Daniela Bezzi turned these interviews into an instant book in Italian, aiming to share the stories of these courageous combatants for peace with the Italian audience. The book features contributions from Luisa Morgantini, Sergio Sinigaglia, Ilaria Olimpico, excerpts from Combatants for Peace resources, and their personal transformation stories. It will be unveiled during the Festival of Peace books “EIRENE FEST” in Rome on May 31, 2024.

JOINT ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN Memorial Day CEREMONY

“In mourning side by side, we seek not to equate narratives but to transform despair into hope and build bridges of deep compassion that can change reality… now more than ever we need to continue to show up for one another to mourn, remember, and call for an end to the violence
and demand a political solution that brings freedom, justice, and safety for all.
… ANOTHER WAY is not only possible but imperative.
This year will be the 19th annual JOINT ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN Memorial Day CEREMONY organized by Combatants for Peace and the Parents
Circle-Families Forum. The Ceremony will take place on May 12, 2024.
Ilaria Olimpico and Uri Noy Meir will be joining via Zoom and they are assessing the feasibility of hosting a local event to share the recording in Ponsacco (Pisa, Italy).
