Acting For Peace 2009, Marburg, Germany
Dear friends,
We are very happy to invite you to the next TO-meeting in 2009, this time in Marburg (Germany), from the 15th to the 21st of march.
Lots of you have sent ideas and commentaries to us, to think off during the planning and organizing and we concerned all of them. Finally we designed the project “acting for peace 2009” together with Hector Aristizabal, from Imaginaction focussing on peace activism, combining rainbow/cop in the head with other approaches from community theatre and story-telling.
This European TO meeting has three main goals:
(1) to continue the exchange and networking we have started in Halle and Bremen in 2007 and 2008 as well as to serve as a platform for international TO-activists to share ideas and experience
(2) to work on the question “how to use theatre and arts for peace and human rights activism?” and to explore the power of TO in peaceful conflict-transformation
(3) to bring social theatre and TO into the local public consciousness and to give new impulses to the activities in the region of marburg
This is the first call for participation and if you are interested you should write to us until the 15th of January. If at this date there are still places left for participants we are going to start a second call. All of you, who want to participate, will get further information about the program and organizational stuff after the 15th of January 2009.
