An ImaginAction Workshop and discussion with Hector Aristizabal
Join us on Friday, March 19th for a discussion with activist/teacher/facilitator, Hector Aristizabal. Hector recently returned from Afghanistan where he conducted workshops with a diverse group of Afghans, including women outcasts in the most dire of conditions. He will share his experiences of his work in Afghanistan, and conduct his Awaken Your Imagination workshop with us – an experiential workshop for anyone seeking personal or social change. By exploring situations dramatically and imagining different ways of engaging in these situations, we can experience the ability to generate positive change in ourselves and in our community. Using experimental techniques based on Theatre of the Oppressed, drumming, dance, storytelling, council circle and more, we will co-create a space that invites the freedom of imagination and the possibility of joy. We invite you to join us in the very serious work of change through play.
Date & Time: Friday March 19 @ 7:15 p.m. The workshop will take place after a brief Topanga Peace Alliance meeting agenda.
