Theatre for Social Justice

Dear Friends on Facebook
As many of you know, ImaginAction has been working in Palestine over the last few years. During my trips I witnessed first hand the dire conditions of the people there. Almost every adult man that I met had been tortured by the Israeli army, echoed in the interviews Vivien has been conducting over the last few weeks in Jenin. They talk about this as if it was a normal part of life. I remember my own attitude when I refused to acknowledge my experience in Colombia as something that needed to be condemned and not denied. During these trips to Palestine, I felt it a great privilege not only to be able to share my own personal story, but to do the work that I do using theatre for social justice and as an instrument for personal and communal healing.
I would like to ask you to help support ImaginAction in returning to Palestine to continue offering my work. I would like to continue working with torture survivors and offer them many of the processes that have helped me deal with my ordeal. I have been in communication with theater groups in Palestine, including Alharah theatre, the Jenin Freedom Theatre and Asthar, who would help organize a performance tour of NightWind and the Awakening the Imagination workshops that I offer. With their assistance, I also hope to train people who work with torture survivors and other groups in order to sustain the work after I leave. If this project interests you please support us by making a tax-deductible donation by clicking on the link below.
Remember no amount is too small to help us raise $10,000 for an entire month of performances and workshops in Palestine.
In gratitude,
ImaginAction
