Belonging. Ritual Theatre Workshop for Community Restoration – Oslo, Norway
September 1, 2017 @ 9:00 am - September 3, 2017 @ 3:30 pm
Join Hector Aristizábal & MIriam Latif Sandbaek in co-operation with Sagene Samfunnshus in this workshop on BELONGING
If you are engaged in questions around inclusion and belonging, personal and/or professional, this workshop is for you! *No theatre experience required*
Our public debate around culture and immigration is polarized and harmful to many people in a healthy democracy. In this workshop we will explore our experiences of belonging. We will use the methodology of Theatre of the Oppressed to create restorative rituals and bring forth collective responses. Together we will find antidotes to fear and discover new ways of seeing ourselves and each other and the multiple ways in which we belong.
Our group will become a “sudden village” and provide a laboratory as we explore these questions:
* What is our sense of belonging?
* What makes us feel we belong, and why is it so important?
* What role do we play in creating the kind of communities we would like to live in and belong to?
* Where are the opportunities and how can we take response-ability for envisioning and creating what we want?
The workshop will be in English with possibilities for some Norwegian translation.
TIME: September 1, 2 and 3, Friday through Sunday, 9.00-16.30 each day
PLACE: Sagene Samfunnshus, Kristiansandsgate 2, Oslo, Norway
